Parenting as much as being enjoyable, is tough and challenging too as you face new challenges every day. One of the toughest times is being mother of a super active toddler who keeps you busy throughout the day and you feel tired and exhausted.

My daughter is an active baby and does not like sitting still at one place for a long time and so I have to think of ways to keep her busy and involved all the time.

I play with her all the time, keeping her engaged, we make innumerable cups of coffee in her kitchen set, make breakfast, lunch and dinner and she actively participates in the games with me.

Another way of keeping them engaged productively is to involve them in the daily chores. By helping us they are in front of our eyes and they feel responsible too. Whenever cooking I keep my daughter with me in the kitchen and hand her some dough. She pretends to make chapatis and is busy all the while I am cooking.

I have many activity kits online like lntellikit and Einstein box and these activities keep her productivity involved and she learns so many new things from them. They keep them busy along with learning new things.

Though my daughter does not like sitting at one place for a long time, but story books keep her glued. After listening to the stories from me she herself takes the book in her lap, turns the pages and narrates the stories looking at the pictures in the book. Listening to stories and reading them builds imagination, creativity and story telling ability.

Sticker books and puzzles are something that keep them engaged too.

I love gardening and from the beginning I kept my daughter involved in gardening too. She used to water the plants with me, pluck the dry leaves and weeds and during that time I taught her about plants and flowers. This helped and very soon she was able to differentiate between a rose and a jasmine flower.

Outdoors is the best place to keep active kids busy, playing helps them grow physically and when they are tired and exhausted, they sleep on time too. I have also started taking my daughter swimming from an early age and very soon she had mastered it. It kept her busy and helped in her physical development too.

There are numerous ways to keep your active kids busy, the key is to spend a lot of time with them, keep them involved and away from screen.

I am a dental surgeon, an army wife and a mother of a 30 months old daughter grooming her round the clock. Writing is my passion and when not writing I love to spend my time in the company of books and my daughter. My life changed completely two and a half years ago when my daughter was born. From being a working woman to a full-time mother was a tremendous transition but I cherish every moment of it. From the moment when I held her first till the time, I walked her to playschool every moment has been sheer bliss. I love talking to her, reading books to her and capturing her different moods and moments.
